We Accept PPO Insurance
Don't see your insurance listed? That's okay! We gladly accept almost any PPO dental insurance, even if we're not in-network. Many PPO plans allow you to visit the dentist of your choice, and we'll gladly submit your claims on your behalf to help you receive any available reimbursement.
Coverage and out-of-pocket costs vary by plan, so our team will verify your benefits before your visit whenever possible.
Do You have an HMO, DeltaCare®, or Medicare Advantage Plan?
HMO, DeltaCare®, and Medicare Advantage plans work differently than PPO insurance and may have additional requirements before benefits can be used. If you have one of these plans, please contact our office before scheduling so we can review your coverage and discuss your options.
Please note that traditional Medicare does not include routine dental benefits. However, if you have a Medicare Advantage plan with dental coverage, we'd be happy to help determine your benefits and discuss your available options.
If you're unsure what type of dental coverage you have, simply give us a call. Our knowledgeable team is happy to help you understand your benefits before your appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
A regular teeth cleaning is recommended for patients with healthy gums or mild gingivitis and focuses on removing plaque and tartar from the surfaces of the teeth and along the gumline.
A deep cleaning, also known as scaling and root planing, is recommended when gum disease has caused tartar and bacteria to collect below the gumline. During a deep cleaning, the tooth roots are carefully cleaned to help remove infection and allow the gums to heal. Deep cleanings are often completed over multiple visits and may involve local anesthesia for your comfort.
After a deep cleaning, patients typically return every 3 to 4 months for periodontal maintenance visits instead of routine cleanings. These more frequent visits help manage gum disease, remove bacteria below the gumline, and maintain your gum health. During your exam, Dr. Wu will determine the cleaning schedule that best supports your long-term oral health.

Dental X-rays are an important part of diagnosing oral health concerns that cannot be seen during a visual exam alone, such as cavities between teeth, bone loss, infections, and other underlying conditions. To provide the most thorough evaluation, we ask all new patients to have a full set of diagnostic X-rays taken. Existing patients typically receive check-up X-rays once a year, or as recommended based on their individual needs.
The amount of radiation used in modern digital dental X-rays is very low and follows established safety guidelines recommended by the dental profession. If you have questions or concerns about X-rays, please let us know—we're happy to discuss their benefits and help you make an informed decision about your care.

After scheduling your appointment, you'll receive a text message or email with a secure link to complete your new patient forms online. The forms are HIPAA-compliant and can only be accessed by authorized Smiles Advantage staff. If you experience any issues accessing your forms, please contact our office and we'll be happy to assist you. If you prefer to complete paper forms, they are available at our office—please arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment to allow enough time to complete them before seeing Dr. Wu.
